About the Rally Fund
Valley View is a community-owned hospital located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. In September 2012, the Hospital opened a comprehensive cancer center to serve the community. The Calaway•Young Cancer Center brings expanded cancer care to the community through the addition of radiation treatment to the Hospital's medical oncology and surgical treatments. The Center has changed the life of anyone living in our community who hears those three words "You Have Cancer".
The Rally Fund provides resources and services to support patients at the Calaway•Young Cancer Center at Valley View. Integrated therapies, support and survivorship programs and an onsite boutique and salon enable Valley View to treat the whole person, not just the disease of cancer. The Rally Fund helps our patients journey through their treatment and into survivorship.
Each year the Rally the Valley event brings the community together to support The Rally Fund as it provides:
Integrated Therapies
Certified therapists provide massage, acupuncture, yoga, therapeutic/healing touch, craniosacral therapy and aromatherapy to promote recovery. These therapies can help a patient better manage the side effects of cancer treatment. They also can help patients cope with the stress and anxiety of a cancer diagnosis. These services complement medical treatments to promote whole body healing.
Onsite Boutique & Salon
The boutique and salon offers specialized products and resources to help patients create a sense of normalcy while they journey through treatment. From wigs and head coverings to skin care and make-up products endorsed by the American Cancer Society, we make sure all those who need these resources are able to receive them.
Support & Survivorship Programs
Fighting cancer takes courage and hope. Your participation in Rally the Valley will support patients through their treatment and transition from cancer patient to cancer survivor. Coffee, Walk and Talk and Moving into Health are programs important to recovery.
Emergency Assistance Fund
The Center's social worker will assess financial need and provide resources and services available through support from the Foundation.
